"Each song on Queen of My Castle features an urgency, with stinging guitar solos and solid riffs. Interestingly, while Rein was heavily influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, she doesn’t mindlessly mimic his style. Her solos have lots of big bends, like Vaughan’s, but there’s also a simplicity and directness that’s all Rein’s own." -AMERICAN BLUES SCENE
"On Queen of My Castle the first six songs are unabashedly centered around standard blues structures and tones. This is not derisive, but rather a nod to Rein’s arrival as a fully formed blues figure who is not afraid to showcase her gruffly sparkled voice and creative guitar ideas." - BLUES ROCK REVIEW
"On Queen of My Castle Rein's unique vocal swagger is punctuated by shredding rhythms, gritty guitars and a locker full of solidly embedded, catchy hooks." - Jeff Laufer of ROCK BANDS OF LA
“Long Road is proof that Diana Rein can do whatever she wants musically - writing, singing, or playing. An unbelievable album from an unbelievable talent!” - BLUE MONDAY MONTHLY
“Strong set of original tunes...fine guitarist and has a haunting Emmylou Harris-like quality to her vocals.” - FRIDAY BLUES FIX
With her sultry and powerful vocals reminiscent of Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt, songs that evoke an emotional response and a guitar style that has been compared to the likes of BB King with the tone of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Diana Rein is becoming the quintessential blues musician.
Recently signed to Mike Zito and Guy Hale's label Gulf Coast Records, Diana released her third album "Queen of My Castle" on the label which was Produced by Michael Leasure (Walter Trout's longtime drummer). The album has received much acclaim and rousing reviews of its fifteen original songs.
"Rein’s vocals contrast nicely with her down-and-dirty guitar work. Her soloing shows a great command of the modern blues vocabulary: fat, nasty tone with little special effects or frills. Queen Of My Castle is a compelling listen. The band is solid throughout the album and lends strong support from the first track to the last but there’s no doubt who is the queen of THIS castle!" - BIG CITY RHYTHM & BLUES MAGAZINE
